At most fitness camps and weight loss camps, you come across a wide variety of activities that are great for the short-term as well as the long-term.  You do several exercises and challenging activities that get you to the wait that you want to be, and you also get a chance to learn a little bit as to how to take care of yourself once you live the fitness camp.  One of these activities is learning very pertinent information with regards to your nutrition.  After all, one very important idea of a weight loss camp is to ensure that you lose weight and then keep it off. 

At these nutrition talks and educational classes, one of the most important recurring themes is that nutrition is 70% of the equation with regards to physical health and appearance.  This means that if nutrition is 70% then exercise is only 30%, that shows you just how important following a few nutrition weight loss guidelines can be helpful to you in your quest for a better body.   Within these guidelines, one of the most important ones is to eat the majority of food towards the beginning of the day.  When you eat more during the start of the day as opposed to the end of the day, you are ensuring that your body does not store any more calories and uses the ones that you are providing through food consumption.   Not storing any more calories is definitely a point that is not focused on enough in the fitness world.  It’s important to remember that when you store calories, you store them as fat.  This means that if you’re on a 2000 calorie diet, and then theoretically eat them at the very last moment before you go to bed, you’ll be storing upwards of 1500 calories worth of fat.  This portion of calories stored as fat comes from fat as well as carbohydrates that bond with insulin in the blood stream and are stored by fat cells for future energy.  The other negative side of this example is that throughout the entire day, your body is going into starvation mode which means that it has even more incentive to store fat.  Meanwhile it was burning muscle throughout the day to fuel that day’s actions.  This loss of muscle mass means that your metabolism lowers which is a third incentive for your body to gain fat.  And all of this happens because of when you eat your food. 

From the above information we can clearly tell that if you eat more towards the beginning of the day, then you can avoid a multitude of potential health hazards.  The best way to spread your meals out is to have a solid well-balanced breakfast and then small meals every four hours after that with snacks in between a couple of times.  Now as you can tell, this means that you’ll have about four or five meals with two snacks.  It sounds like the calories can accumulate rather quickly, but this really isn’t the case.  When you eat a solid breakfast of about 500 calories and then three meals of 350 calories with two snacks of about 100 calories each, you’re looking at about 1750 calories throughout the entire day.  The beauty of consuming like this is that you’re not storing any excess fat, and the constant small meals ensure that your metabolism never slows down. 

The great thing about fitness camps is that you get to learn and live all this helpful information by repeating it on a continual basis for the time that you are at whichever weight loss camp you choose to attend.  This repetition helps to break habits in such a fashion that the benefits from your weight loss camp experience go far beyond the weeks or months spent at a fitness camp.  The idea is that your fitness level increases, your knowledge improves and that your habits change to create a longer fuller life for you and your family.


As you read more and more information on this website, you can tell that eating at night is something that is all too common in the lives of many people that are overweight.  One of the things that you learn at -weight loss camps is that eating at night is something that has to be overcome to ensure long-term weight management.  When you eat at night, a vicious cycle is created in which you eat at night, then you feel guilty about eating at night, and then the next night you do it all over again because you want something to distract you from your guilt.  The big advantage of fitness camps is that the availability of food is rather limited, so these weight loss camps are great places to break a habit like this.  And while this is not the reason why everybody eats at night, it is common enough though to bring the point up that if you feel guilty about eating too much at night, then the chances are that you will repeat eating at night.  This can be extremely dangerous for your physical health as well as your mental health.  Life is too short to spend it in a guilt cycle that detracts completely from your quality of life.  It is the non-medical opinion of Fitness Camps .net that if you feel guilty about eating at night, try your hardest to break the unhealthy habit for one day.  From this point on, things might change.  As is with breaking all habits, you have to change things one day at a time.
